Kiwifruit is said to improve your gut microbiome A doctor has revealed the miracle fruit that’s a must-eat for powerful health perks . Dr. William Li, a nutrition and wellness expert, spotlights a "superfruit" full of gut health and cognitive function benefits.

Speaking on the Toxic Free with KB podcast , he said a specific fruit that can seriously boost your gut health "overnight". Dr. Li said no other supplements or vitamins are needed to improve gut health and our brain game, reports Surrey Live .

He added: "We know, and this is from human research, that if you eat even one kiwi a day and you measure your gut bacteria from your poop, just eating one kiwi a day will, overnight, improve your gut microbiome."

Dr Li said follow-up reviews would exhibit "beneficial bacteria growing back" in the gut.

He added: "This result is fast," and explained that although it’s "Quick to damage [gut health] but have a kiwi , you can actually heal it back up and it’s as quick as starting overnight."

The NHS has also shed light on certain foods that can boost gut health, highlighting a variety of fruits and vegetables. Additionally, the NHS suggests that wholemeal bread, brown rice, beans, and oats can have a beneficial impact on your stomach’s microbiome.

Emphasizing the role of fibre, the guidance notes: "It’s a good idea to try to eat more fibre or roughage, as most people in the UK do not get enough. A diet rich in fibre can help digestion and prevent constipation. Aim for the recommended dietary intake of 30g of fiber a day."
