GE HealthCare has announced the integration of AI-enabled application orchestration into its True PACS and Centricity PACS platforms in collaboration with Blackford. This advancement aims to assist radiologists in managing their increasing workloads, thereby enabling quicker diagnoses and treatments. The AI platform will offer healthcare providers access to a range of third-party AI applications that cover multiple clinical use cases, from mammography to lung scans. Ludovic d’Apréa, CEO of Solutions for Enterprise Imaging at GE HealthCare, emphasized the importance of AI in improving workflow efficiency, especially as clinician burnout rises due to excessive administrative tasks and patient loads.

AI is a central pillar of GE HealthCare’s precision care strategy, which focuses on integrating smart devices, digital solutions, and targeted therapies to enhance patient care. With over 80 FDA clearances for AI-enabled medical devices, GE HealthCare is a leading player in AI adoption. The integration with Blackford will offer radiologists faster and easier access to curated AI solutions, enhancing the efficiency, accuracy, and quality of imaging services. GE HealthCare, a global leader in medical technology and digital solutions, continues to drive innovations that improve healthcare outcomes, supported by its $19.6 billion business and 51,000 employees worldwide.
