A Texas veteran’s journey to relief

After serving in Iraq and Afghanistan and later as a firefighter, Matt began to experience restlessness, anxiety and insomnia from PTSD. His body remained on high alert, and pharmaceutical medications only worsened his symptoms.

Through the Texas Compassionate Use Program , Matt received a prescription for medical cannabis, allowing him to manage his symptoms and finally enjoy a restful night’s sleep.

"Medical cannabis is very good for getting the nervous system to go into restore and relax mode," Matt shared in a recent interview. "Since getting my prescription, my life has gotten a lot better."

A Texas father’s battle with PTSD and cancer

Grief consumed Barry after losing his 20-year-old son, leaving him with PTSD, depression and anxiety. Soon after, he was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer and began to rely on heavy pain medications to cope with the emotional and physical pain."I was taking 12 pain pills a day," Barry recalled.
